“Mulher” e “família”: o senso-comum como política pública no governo Bolsonaro

In Bolsonaro’s government, the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights, lead by minister Damares Alves eradicated the gender perspective from its internal organization and actions, insisting in “women” and “family” as their focus for human rights policies. This research has been observing and mapping the construction of a new conservative human rights grammar which disputes the meaning of “human rights” by changing its objects and investing in the discursive creation of a new social problem (the supposed weakening of family ties), while positioning the “family” as a tool for solving social problems already seen as legitime (like domestic violence). This work describes one of the phenomena found in such study: the systematic use of lay knowledge categories in opposition to scientific categories as the basis for creating public policies.
