Abstract

Through the translation and analysis of two sexual assaults represented by Hokusai, it is aimed to characterize one sexual aspect among Edo period townsmen, particularly relating text and image. It is shown specificities of the ninjôbon literary genre in Hokusai's erotic prints universe and its relation with pathos {aware).
