Abstract

The artwork of Bill Viola explores the relation between the eletronic image and the material world. The video “The space between the teeth” has nine minutes, colour, sound, it was made in 1976 and is part of a art serie named “Four Songs”. In this art serie the artist shows the relations of his own work with the music and poetic structures from the Romanticism. The tensive semiotics, proposed by Claude Zilberberg and Jacques Fontanille, will be used to analise the flow of expression and content, we will use the concepts of tension x relaxing, and the tensive schematics to describe the directing of the flow of atention.
