Based on tensive grammar proposed by Jacques Fontanille and Claude Zilberberg, the article focus on the theoretical contributions of presence field and event concepts for the study of autobiographical discourses. For this purpose, we observe the connections between memory and perception in José Saramago's book As pequenas memórias (2006). The notions of memory of the past and event memory, developed in previous works, are useful to explain the gradations of the work impact on the enunciatee (presupposed reader). While the memory of the past privileges the legibility of the text, producing on the enunciatee the effect of detachment and comfort; the event-memory captures him by impact.
