This article aims to highlight some of the contributions the book Du sens II. Essais sémiotiques (1983) has brought to Discursive Semiotics, especially in Brazil. The discussion is organized into three sections: in the first section, for a general approach to the work, parts of the Preface written by the author for the Brazilian translation of Sobre o sentido II. Ensaios Semióticos, published in 2014, are revisited; in the second and third sections, two specific questions are examined, that of enunciation and that of veridiction, concepts whose trajectories have been drawn from the theoretical and methodological approach presented in Greimas’ book.
