Groupe μ: rhetoric and semiotics

This paper is structured into four parts, followed by “final considerations”. Initially, we introduce Groupe µ and provide context for some of its key works. Next, we present a general overview of classical rhetoric and situate Groupe µ’s contributions within the two main New Rhetoric branches of the discipline from the second half of the 20th century onward. In the third part, we explore the progressive shift of its intellectual production toward the field of semiotics, highlighting its contributions both to the expansion of this domain and to the consolidation of cognitive semiotics. Finally, we outline the main foundations of this cognitive semiotics.
