A noção de conteúdo e de expressão no percurso gerativo do sentido

Abstract

This work intends to propound a theoretical discussion about the analysis of content plane and expression plane in the generative path of meaning assuming the theoretical methodological procedure proposed by the discursive semiotics, mainly with works presented by Lindekens, Thürlemann and Floch, on the plastic or visual semiotics perspective. Since the ‘60s or ‘70s, with Lindekens’s works, an analysis of methodology has been planned on the plane of expression, mainlyto observe the form and substance of this plane, theme that is taken up again with Thürlemann e Floch’s studies in the ‘80s, which understands the generative path of meaning through correlation between the planes of language. The discussions presented by these authors point differences between the signifier systems described in the generative path of meaning; recapitulate the concepts of form and substance of content and form and substance of expression postulated by Hjelmslev and motivate debates about the analysis of the expression plane, which is the central theme of contemporary semiotics.
