Abstract

This work presents analyzes   and initial perceptions about creative and feminist forms of resistance to capitalism, produced by contemporary women artists' collectives. The emergence of activist art collectives - many of them formed of women and LGBTQIA+ people - highlights new modes of resistance and existence in capitalist society; if they arise in reaction to the dominant ideology and the new wave of authoritarian regimes, they also appear despite contemporary capitalism and fascism, appearing as apparition spaces, in Butler's terms (2012). Creative process and political action are crossed in the works, practices and reflections produced in collectives revealing to us that emotions and affections have an importance in politics. I am interested in understanding how artistic sensibility and affections in general are mobilized in the activist practice of these collectives and how their performance can point to paths for social transformation.
