Abstract

This text presents some reflections on the articulations between Creative Economy, Tourism and Platformization to problematize the relationship between social participation in cultural production and consumption in two perspectives: the local cultural production and consumption, and the production of tourist cultural consumption. By contextualizing the creative economy as a multifunctional and transversal public policy, we intend to show how the articulations between tourism and urban development were incorporated into cultural policies and how platformization influenced this process. We will then briefly discuss the role of social participation in the organization of cultural and creative work, and in the creation of local cultural spaces that give rise to new urban centralities and their challenges, to investigate the social participation of tourists in promoting urban centers.
