Abstract

This article analyzes the Brazilian school of law and regulatory policy addressing the educational policies that seek to assure educational practices that incorporate the events of Brazilian popular culture. It aims to promote a reflection on the understanding of the process of formalizing the theme of cultural diversity outside the school, linking the role of culture in today's schools and teacher training, change agents in school practices. The adopted framework is based on ideas of Gramsci, Paulo Freire, Moacir Gadotti, Edgar Morin, and Ana Mae Barbosa among others, following the path history of popular culture in Brazilian schools.
