Complicaciones cardiovasculares en pacientes hospitalizados con COVID-19 y la repercusión en la movilidad

Las manifestaciones cardiovasculares
provocadas por la COVID-19 pueden resultar en una
reducción de la funcionalidad aguda, que persiste más allá de la internación. Este estudio tuvo el objetivo de describir la
ocurrencia de eventos cardiovasculares en pacientes hospitalizados
con COVID-19 e identificar su impacto en la movilidad del paciente.
Se trata de un estudio retrospectivo, realizado a través de la
búsqueda de datos en registros médicos digitales, entre marzo
de 2021 y marzo de 2022. Se analizaron 567 casos, de los cuales el
19.6% (n=111) de los pacientes presentaron eventos cardiovasculares
en la internación. La prevalencia fue en el sexo masculino, con
edad media de 47.5±9.8, que representa el 52.3% (n=58) de los
casos. La lesión del miocardio fue el evento cardiovascular más
frecuente y la arritmia cardíaca fue el principal evento que se
asoció con el resultado de muerte (p=0.01). La ocurrencia de
eventos cardiovasculares presentó una moderada correlación
negativa con la Escala de Movilidad en una Unidad de Cuidados
Intensivos en el alta hospitalaria (p=0.05). La ocurrencia de eventos
cardiovasculares en pacientes hospitalizados por COVID-19 fue del
19.6%, siendo la lesión del miocardio la ocurrencia más frecuente,
y estos eventos se asocian con la reducción del nivel de movilidad
