The present study seeks to establish a dialogue on Art and Geography, with reference to the work of Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh, from a perspective rooted in the philosophy of Martin Heidegger. Specifically, in this study we examine the “The Potato Eaters”, painted in 1885, treated as a truth that appears, according to Heidegger’s thinking. Not only for this: the Dutch artist’s painting has a connection to the way he interprets the world and the things in the world around him: it is a painting that portrays life around the artist.
