The books the Geography of Hunger and the Geopolitics of Hunger are two works where Josué de Castro exposes the worst evil that can reach a society, hunger. In addition to the scientific character these two books can also be considered two channels of denunciations against politicians and rulers who promote the scourge of thousands of people both in Brazil or elsewhere on the planet. However, this text will not be a summary dedicated to these works, but a more complete account of the performance of Josué de Castro as a doctor, geographer, politician, diplomat, based on the documentary Josué de Castro: citizen of the world (1994). Like most Brazilian intellectuals Josué de Castro was forced to leave Brazil during the military dictatorship in the country. But its intellectual strength continues to overcome geographical barriers to this day; now, free-form.
