Abstract

The study presents relationships obtained between photosynthetic active radiation (PAR) and global radiation observed in São Paulo city with frequency of five minutes. Values obtained for PAR/Global ratio are similar of those present by literature. Therefore, linear models proposed here can be used for PAR estimation in regions with similar climate to that of São Paulo. Data analysis showed greater PAR attenuation in São Paulo than that observed in Botucatu, what can be partially explained by differences in atmospheric pollutants concentrations over the two sites. This assumption must be
though verified.
