Abstract

This study aims to propose improvements in the process of digitization architectural heritage for HBIM through aerial photogrammetry, using as a sample space the Chapel of Our Lady of Solitude, located in Belém/PA (Brazil). The classification of the macroprocess and the analysis of the synthesis of digitization processes were adopted as a starting point. Thus, the research evaluated the techniques used in carrying out the geomatic survey and generating the point cloud to verify improvements, considering the parameters of number of images, survey time, number of points in the generated cloud, processing time for generating the cloud and depth maps; ground resolution, coverage area, and reprojection error. Additionally, the GoG 8 generation level was established as a modeling parameter for the construction of the historical asset of interest. With the proposed methodology, it was possible to improve the process of building an HBIM model in certain aspects and make it more fluid, efficient, and faster to execute and reproduce.
