Tibério Village: a patrimony of the city in transformation. Photographic Documentation and the Information Organization from the photographic collection of the Periodical of the Village of Ribeirão Preto – the month’s memory of a city

This article aims at to study the roots of a quarter of the city of Ribeirão Preto, the Tibério Village, through the study of the photographic collection of the Periodical of the Village under the responsibility of the journalist Fernando Braga. The proposal presented is based on the development of an informatized data base from this collection, that guarantees, of the documentary point of view, the had treatment the same. As well as it provides to an approach of the course of Graduation in Information Science and of the Documentation with the local history and community, in order to guarantee the continuity of the treatment to the photographic documentary collection of the Tibério Village. Moreover, it folloies the construction of the Documentation and Memory’s Center of the Tibério Village. The methodology contemplated the bibliography use produced for tangent areas of the knowledge to the fields of the Information Science such as: History, Verbal History, Cultural Studies and Social Sciences in the direction to apply, at the moment of the analysis of photographic documents, all the accumulated knowledge that could contribute to elucidate the meaning to them, the gaps left for the time possible to be interpreted to break documents. The software considered for the construction of the photographic collection’s data base of the Tibério Village was the free software PostgreSQL, that, beyond gratuitous is sufficiently efficient with respect to management of photographic collection and able to available them to the
World Wide Web (Internet).
