For an effective and transformative cultural policy: a reflection on the social responsibility of the State and private organizations regarding cultural investment in Brazil

Abstract

This article is the result of studies on projects supported by the Federal Cultural Incentive Law over the past twenty years. The work portrays not only the quantitative aspects and the distribution of resources allocated to cultural areas and segments, but, most importantly, the true social contribution of projects aimed at children and adolescents. It is a critical analysis of the current public policy supporting culture implemented by recent governments.
