Abstract

The main purpose of this article is to provide reflections, albeit introductory, given the short time elapsed since its object and the brief nature of this text, on the floods that hit the state of Rio Grande do Sul in the first half of 2024 and their effects on the formation of public opinion regarding climate change. To this end, the theoretical framework of authors such as Arnold van Gennep, Byung-Chul Han, Walter Lippmann and information extracted from journalistic articles were used.
