This essay focuses on a specific theme (air, haze, sky, moon) in the poetry of Carlos Drummond de Andrade, Chico Alvim, Rubens Rodrigues Torres Filho and Claudia Roquette-Pinto, attempting to elucidate, in comparison with the effects of haze on the structure of Guignard’s painting, the ways in which the specific form of these poems and pictures incorporates aspects from Brazilian social experience of the 20th and 21st centuries.
