Abstract

Based on the connections between literature and psychoanalysis, this texts evokes a female character of Guimarães Rosa's who, having been violated by local big shots, shyly eliminates them takes hold of their possessions and learns "the letters", becoming master of her own body, desire and narrative act - something unusual in Rosa's work.
