Abstract

The article intends to analyze the figuration of errancy in this novel, stressing its articulations with literary memory and the historical experience of the Brazilian people. It also aims at emphasizing the especific ways in which the narrative stages the interdiction of territorialization, thus projecting violence and exclusion as recurring semantic axes in the characterization of the space in which the landless roam.
