Abstract

This article investigates the imaginary of rails, thematically associating trains and cities. It recollects and associates novels, films, fragments from Walter Benjamin, poems by Baudelaire, paintings by Monet, but its main line of argument is the comparative reading of literary extracts randomly chosen.
