Abstract

This is the afterword to Osman Lins's novel Avalovara, written in 1976, as part of its German edition (translation of Marianna Jolowicks), published by Suhrkamp. Meant for the foreign reader, this text situates Avalovara in the context of Brazilian literature and in the tradition of innovative novels, also calling upon the problematic of the "horizon of expectations" of reception theory.
