Burned and posted: materialize immaterial archives

The present work was written by many authors in the context of the Research Group on Creation Processes at PUC-SP, in the face of the permanent challenge generated by the expansion of creation archives. The starting point happened with a publication on the Instagram profile of Ateliê Carlos Vergara, in which the artist records (and posts) the burning of archives, as an "exercise of rigor". The post triggered several questions about the materiality of the archives, especially in the digital context and the social networks. Thus, the materiality transformation; accumulation and coexistence between registration practices; process performances; specificities of the audiovisual record and the social networks are some of the issues covered in the article.Downloads
