Architecture and creative association in the elaboration of writing

This paper aims to analyze an excerpt from Beira-Mar/memórias 4, by the memorialist Pedro Nava, retracing his path to describe the human skeleton, based on the radiographs used by the doctor-writer as detonating triggers of imagination. The nouns and adjectives for body parts come from architecture, because, in addition to being a doctor, he was an artist, not only as a literary man, but also as a visual artist, albeit an amateur. Considering the choice of nouns and adjectives and the path for the text under analysis, we used Genetic Criticism and Stylistics as theoretical support, which allow to understand and reconstruct the intentions and objectives of the author.
