Abstract

The present text aims to propose a reflective exercise in relation to one of the main exponents of the political discourse of Augustus, the text of his res gestae, and analyze the mechanisms used by Augustus in his writing to reinforce his virtuous action in behalf of "the people and the Roman Senate" and present himself as the restorer of the Republic.
