Abstract

Harry Pross (1923–2011) was one of the most important journalists and thinkers of Communication Science in Germany in the second half of the 20th century. He was the founder of a new approach that would become established in the 1990s as Media Theory. With numerous contributions to thinking about the media from a culturalist, anthropological and philosophical perspective, he contributed to a contemporary reflection that understands the media as creators of environments. This text points out four case studies that bring Pross’ theories to the 21st century.
