This work is a critical review of the book Ciudadanos reemplazados por algoritmos, written by Néstor García Canclini, in 2019. In the work, the author discusses, as an essay, how to be a citizen in global and electronic capitalism, in a context in which, previously safe, concepts of citizenship, politics and globalization are reorganized. When traditional systems of making politics seem to fail, the author seeks understanding, answers and solutions in new forms of participation and claim, in young people and in hacking cultures, paying attention to the dangerous combination of the opacity of the algorithms and the transparency of our data.
