Abstract

The aim of this article is to thing about pos colonialism from the Portuguese point of view. Another objective of this exposition is to thing about the Other, building by the Portuguese media. It will be discussed the concept of imagined community and the relation between Us and the Other on globalization and Portuguese empire fall context. This process will be illustrated by the centenaries relations between Portugal and Brazil. Identity, National identity, Difference and Ethnicity will be useful prior concepts to approach the migration and the recognition policies.

  • Isabel Ferin Cunha, Faculdade de Letras de Lisboa
    Licenciada em história pela Faculdade de Letras de Lisboa, Mestre e Doutora em Ciências da Comunicação pela Universidade de São Paulo. Foi professora da Escola de Comunicações e Artes (USP) e em Portugal leccionou no Curso de Comunicação Social e Cultural da Universidade Católica. Actualmente encontra-se no Instituto de Estudos Jornalísticos da Universidade de Coimbra e dedica-se ao estudo das migrações nos Media e à ficção televisiva. barone.ferin@ netcabo.pt
