Abstract

The paper discusses the user’s perception about the use of social network sites for news circulation. Parting from design concepts, we seek to identify elements perceived by users on social network sites that influence news circulation. The discussion is based on answers given by Facebook and Twitter users to a questionnaire. Answers indicate that, because of their functional affordances and user’s appropriations, Twitter is better perceived as a space for news circulation than Facebook.
