Abstract

The age of multiplicity reveals the breaking of boundaries, with diversity of media that allows new supports for writing and reading. The literary production is more heterogeneous, presenting new voices, with more female authors, black authors, LBGT, and marginalized groups that also seek their space. Readers are increasingly active and critical, reflecting on the rapidity of succession of consuetude. In this perspective in which the literature still survives, this article aims to point out predominant characteristics in contemporary Brazilian fiction in relation to aesthetics, themes addressed, discourse and character construction. In that sense, this article with focus on the reading of some works released from 2016, such as O amor dos homens avulsos (Victor Heringer), O tribunal da quinta-feira (Michel Laub), Correr com Rinocerontes (Cristiano Baldi), Ponciá Vicêncio (Conceição Evaristo – new edition), among others.
