Abstract

The article discusses the empowerment of the patient in the new 2.0 communication environment, which impacts the relations with health professionals who now have less control over the actions of patients. The latter rise from a reactive position to a new proactive posture, discussing their health conditions and the experiences of other patients with the same illness – all of which obtained from use of the Internet.
