Abstract

The critical reflection developed in this essay stems from a desire to claim and recognize other knowledge than those defined by the Western worldview and, more specifically, by the techno-scientific rationality, bastion of struggle and power of the great North. This reflection is anchored in the role of the intellectual or academic, as being in-between, formed (or rather formatted) as a diffuser and amplifier of that rationality. The essay also engages with the internal struggles between the cosmovisions of the North and the South that are lived in the work of the academic, and more specifically through the process of publication.
