Understanding the challenges of a job well done: emotional behavior as a search engine and research tool

This article is based on a field survey of in florists in Switzerland and United States and offers a reflection on the way ethnographic practice engages the researcher, her body and her way of perceiving and understanding what is happening. Then, it will focus on what this commitment can reveal about the field of internal communication, considering the conception of a “job well done”. It questions if the guideline that the researcher must remain “objective” in the field and raises the question if there is a better tool than a committed body to carry out an ethnographic investigation.
