Os modelos de modernização da paisagem na zona norte do Rio de Janeiro

Abstract

This thesis focus on Rio de Janeiro's urban landscape. It aims to form a methodological framework in order to deal with one central theme: the multiplication the central landscape architecture configuration patterns in the different areas of the city; focusing on the northern suburban neighborhoods, along the railway lines. The analysis includes the description of the landscape modelling process in the suburban area, by comparing the city's general patterns and the local ones. The paper also describes the morphological and environmental adequacy of the local types, as related to the tropical context of Rio de Janeiro, by suggesting the revision of the urban regulation codes, in order to increase the environmental and landscape quality of the railway suburban neighbourhood
