Abstract

The urban forms are due to environmental changes of place, of their physical, biological and anthropogenic situation, the last one as the main transformative. The cities and landscapes change when socio-economic and cultural conditions change, such as Belo Horizonte/Minas Gerais, that expands beyond its physical boundaries and political, having conurbation with the other municipalities in the Metropolitan Region. The occupations occur disorderly causing problems of public management, sanitation, mobility and conurbation with other municipalities. This paper addresses the area of conurbation of Northern Region of Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, called “North Vector” and its relationship with the public and private spaces through a qualitative and quantitative analysis. Although public open spaces are considered continuities in the urban fabric, the buildings spaces public and private are enlarged respecting or not the existing laws. The higher frequency of this conflict is located mainly in North Vector of Belo Horizonte, driven by the construction of the road “Linha Verde”, and other urban equipment, reason for their choice to study. Through knowledge of these spaces based on historical and contemporary variables will be possible to build a methodological referential of relations between public open spaces, the buildings and urban form. Open spaces can be considered structural elements of urban form and have legitimate importance to the quality of urban life.
