It is evident a remarkable contribution brought by popular housing design in terms of large areas for community uses as well as introducing different ways of spatial arrangements to shape environnement units between 1945 to 2000 of the new urban tissues designed for the City of Maceió, Brasil. “Segmentation”, “traffic hierarchie”, “centralities” would be the differentiating traits presented in some of those projects. These distinctive features concern mainly the space configuration for community use. Spatial uidelines arrangement of these plots clearly indicate a teleology more complex and erudite of inhabiting the city, particularly in relation to the configuration of urban localities and the development of neighborhood sociability.
