Abstract

In few Brazilian cities the history is so recent as Palmas, confounding past and present in a singular way, occurring a distinguished time-space relation, alive, dominated by the fast transformation of the natural landscape and the configuration of urban scenery. What we can se in Palmas is the participation of each citizen in this history, not narrated only by facts and registers, but by the urban space quotidian appropriation. Is the natural space domination history, mainly the initial mistake of this relation, producing an environmental context unsuitable with the regional potentiality. This work delineates a historic view of Palmas landscape development, showing the open space design history in the city context.
