Intervenciones Psicossocial para Personas Mayores con Trastorno Bipolar: Revisión Sistemática con Metanálisis

Resumen

El trastorno afectivo bipolar es un trastorno mental crónico que puede tener graves consecuencias en personas mayores. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar evidencia de efectividad de intervenciones psicosociales basadas en terapia cognitivo-conductual para el trastorno bipolar. Se realizó una revisión sistemática con metanálisis basada en ensayos clínicos aleatorizados, publicados entre 2012-2022, que incluyeron personas mayores en sus muestras. La búsqueda, realizada en las bases de datos Pubmed, SciELO, CENTRAL y PePSIC, resultó en 1069 artículos, de los cuales 15 fueron incluidos para esta investigación. Se utilizaron recomendaciones de PRISMA y JBI. Se comprobó que la psicoeducación y, especialmente, las intervenciones en Terapia Cognitivo-Conductual pueden mejorar síntomas en este trastorno. Mediante el metaanálisis, se observó un efecto a favor de la Terapia Cognitivo-Conductual para reducir la manía, pero no para la depresión. Sin embargo, se necesitan más estudios, ya que ninguno fue realizado exclusivamente con personas mayores.
