Abstract

Environmental educators have tracked down in the ethic appeal the possibility of the creation of new relations of the human being with the environment. For many times, however, the insertion of the ethics in these initiatives is made based on the morality speech, for example, when the argument is reduced on the duty for the future generation. However, the ethics awaken seems to be a more complex event, anchored in an education with the power of developing autonomous subjects, able to be independent of predetermined values, and sensitive to the other. In the present job, we reflect on the ethics of compassion, discussing primarily with Schopenhauer, Lévinas and Dussel, and on their possible meanings for the environmental education.
