The purpose of this article is to discuss theoretical and methodological issues regarding the research in environmental education. It deliberates on the ideas presented by Antonio Carlos Amorim and Charbel Niño El-Hani at the IV EPEA, based on the current reflections on the legacy of modernity and the postmodern critique. It concludes by sustaining the social responsibility of the confrontation of ideas as a way to show up reality, its contradictions, and the possibilities of overcoming the capitalist system towards a new social project.Downloads
