This article presents two investigations carried out within the scope of the Weaving Group - Environmental Education and Cultural Studies, of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). We have realized that in our present time, which some authors call Postmodernity, culture plays a central role in relation to the ways in which we give meaning to the world and the ways we negotiate and compose our identities. The investigations at play in this text seek to see how individuals perceive and relate to two different places: an urban forest in Florianópolis and an urban park in Palhoça, SC. And each of them is taken as a multiple, that is, as traversed by both local and global stories, seen as open and dynamic, in constant movement, a "meeting-place", built and rebuilt by the relationships among humans, and between humans and non-humans. By using educational devices, we are interested in weaving written and image-based narratives about how such places are narrated (and established discursively) by the utterances of individuals who move through their surroundings. We consider such investigative practices that create narratives as inventions of an environmental education that wants to show the many threads that are at play in the plots which continuously compose and rearrange an environment.Downloads
