Vozes femininas na tradução: uma análise histórica do contexto germânico

Este artigo tem como objetivo identificar o trabalho intelectual de mulheres na história da tradução a partir da discussão de questões históricas e culturais de regiões germânicas de meados do século XVIII a meados do XIX. A metodologia utilizada foi a pesquisa qualitativa interpretativista, recorrendo a trabalhos de literatura crítica publicados entre 1904 e 2024. O artigo está dividido em três partes, que buscam responder perguntas relativas à omissão ou exclusão do nome de tradutoras na História da Tradução e à contribuição intelectual de mulheres no contexto germânico, com ênfase em temas relevantes aos Estudos da Tradução e Filosofia. Foi abordado o caso de um grupo de cinco mulheres, conhecido como Göttinger Universitätsmamsellen (Senhoritas da Universidade de Göttingen). Elas estavam inseridas em círculos intelectuais proeminentes, fizeram traduções interlinguais e tiveram trabalhos publicados em uma época em que isso ainda não era comum às suas contemporâneas. Elas foram um exemplo excepcional. Entre os resultados do estudo, foi observado que o trabalho intelectual de mulheres contribuiu para a circulação de textos iluministas e literários na Alemanha pré-unificada, embora seus nomes não sejam tão rememorados quanto os de seus parceiros e familiares homens.
