This article studies the frontispiece engraving of Krafft and Ransonnette's book, published in 1801, with architectural drawings of the "most beautiful houses and buildings from Paris and surroundings." Based on this original image, the article researches the allegorical representation of the nouvelle architecture and the unfolding of the architect's role at the turn of the 19th century.Downloads
