Abstract

The present work proposes to analyze the problems pointed out by Henri Bergson (1859 -1941), in Essay on the Immediate Data of Consciousness – such problems seek to raise criticism concerning spatialization of mind and time, and, with that, he proposes to clear the dualisms, so we know the nature of each thing (or, each pole of this dual), not to fall in a confuse blend, as, for example, the chronological time, and reduction of deep feelings the simple molecular stimulus. Bergson, consequently, be careful on metaphysics, as well as science, the positivist molds. One of the criticisms levelled by Bergson, regarding the psychophysics, the work proposes, besides presenting some Essay’s ideas, link them to the beginning of the career of Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), with the Project for A Scientific Psychology, in order to show the psychophysical content of the same work, which Bergson is opposed
