Abstract

The problem that we would like to explore is the supposed anachronism pointed out by the historian Lucien Febvre, in his work Le Problème de l’incroyance au XVIe Siècle, regarding Abel Lefranc’s conceptions about disbelief at the beginning of the 16th Century. In his view, Lefranc intends to make the 16th century a skeptic, libertine and rationalistic one
