    Abstract

The review analyzes the book “The Land and Its Historians: Lessons in Agrarian History in Latin America”, released in 2023 in Brazil and organized by Maria Sarita Mota, Maria Verônica Secreto and Cristiano Luís Christillino. The work is divided into five parts, addresses the formation of land structures, the impact of primary-export economies, the role of agrarian legislation and the interaction between Agrarian and Environmental History, its relationship with the use of new methodologies linked to digital humanities and the positive impacts that interdisciplinarity can bring to studies of the Latin American rural world. Methodologically, the organizers choose to emphasize the comparative perspective seen as an opportunity to establish the relations of dominance and subordination between States of the Global North and States of the Global South, as well as their reproduction within distinct social groups. The analysis brings the main points of the writings that make up the book and reflections on the lessons presented.
