Abstract

The work”, based on an exercise in Intellectual History combined with the History of Concepts, presents an innovative perspective for the analysis of American, Latin American, Hispanic or Ibero-American identities. Exploring, especially, the idea of networks and the trajectories of fundamental subjects for the construction of representations about the continent, the collection presents a Latin America that can be understood as a Field of representations and as a Place of imaginaries. Throughout this review, we explore the main contributions of each text, as well as analyze the central issues and possible contributions of the work. As a main aspect, it is understood that the work is a unique and important publication, considering that it discusses a theme that is dear to studies on the Americas, but constantly naturalized: national identities and representations.
