Abstract

This article aims to demonstrate how critical thinking criteria can be applied to analyze the challenges and prospects of bi-regional cooperation between Europe and Latin America, through the application of discourse analysis and critical thinking skills. Key considerations for understanding the argument include the importance of diversifying cooperation beyond commodity trade, the potential advantages of collaboration in high-technology sectors, and the imperative of advancing environmental protection. Moreover, power dynamics and historical contexts must be carefully examined during negotiations to ensure a nuanced approach.Within this context, European discourse can be critically assessed by evaluating the credibility of information sources regarding economic and non-economic agreements, cultural relevance, audience targeting, persuasive style, internal consistency, institutional stance, communication platforms, and the "timing" and contemporary relevance of such discourse for national development. The article concludes by emphasizing that a holistic perspective is necessary for a deeper understanding of geopolitical dynamics. Such an approach can support the visibility and formulation of more effective agreements that promote development and enhance international cooperation.
