Résumé

 L’objectif de cet article est d’explorer la perception des mères sur la transition de leurs enfants autistes avec un niveau de soutien 2 et 3 de l’adolescence à la majorité. Dans un cycle de vie familial standard, on s’attend à ce que l’enfant, au cours de ses étapes de développement, recherche une plus grande autonomie et redéfinit sa relation avec ses soignants, mais dans les familles atypiques, ce processus peut se produire d’une manière différente de celle attendue. Un entretien semi-structuré a été réalisé auprès de 11 soignants d’adultes autistes et les données collectées ont été interprétées selon L’analyse de Contenu de Bardin. Il a été constaté que les comportements d’automutilation et hétéroagressifs ont diminué avec le vieillissement du sujet autiste, la nécessité de renforcer continuellement les comportements socialement appropriés a été mise en évidence, ainsi qu’il manque préparation des institutions formelles pour accueillir les adultes autistes.
